The name Falasarna is given to the local nymph Falasarni, who was a kind of local heroine. The city developed especially during the 4th and 3rd century BC. The ancient city of Falassarna was highly developed commercially, with its own coin bearing the form of a woman on one side and the initials FA between a trident, indicative of the area on the other.
The bay of Falassarna with its clear blue waters and all-white sand, surrounded by a verdant wild landscape, is located 59 km west (50 ‘drive) of Chania and 17 km (15’ drive) west of Kissamos.
Beach of Falassarna has been awarded by various platforms and media as one of the 10 best beaches in Greece and among the 100 best beaches in the world. The coastline is very large in size and consists of five consecutive beaches. The two central ones are the most favorite for most.
The sand there is white and so the sea water takes on a tropical color.
The main beach is called Pachia Ammos and is an exotic wide sandy beach one kilometer long. It receives most of the people in the area and there are umbrellas and refreshments, where you can get the essentials. You will also find water sports. Adam Apartments are located 200 m from this beach.
Do not leave the beach before sunset, as the sunset in Falasarna is magical. The sun is lost in the sea as there is no natural obstacle on the horizon!
